How Does Trauma Informed Yoga & Breathwork Work?

Nervous system regulation: Specific breathing patterns, like rhythmic or circular breathing, help to calm the nervous system and shift it away from the "fight, flight, or freeze" response.

Somatic release: By engaging the body through breath, this practice can help release trauma that is "stored" in the body, reducing symptoms like dissociation or hyper-vigilance.

Emotional processing: The practice can create a safe space to access and process suppressed emotions associated with traumatic experiences, leading to emotional catharsis and integration.

Mind-body connection: It fosters a deeper awareness of the mind-body connection, allowing individuals to connect with their own innate healing abilities.
